Dharana is a technique of holding concentration via a meditative state to bring about stillness of the mind.
Dhyana is the primary meditative state of inner immersion practiced in order to elevate consciousness.
Samadhi is the pinacle state of meditation that arises naturally from the combined practice of Dharana and Dhyana and the remaining aspects of the 8 limbed system.
